For the last seven years, the terrain park’s location on the Powder Bowl slope limited the amount of skier traffic that section could handle. The Park, which has more than 50 features in its inventory, now has more acreage to build more elaborate jumps and features.Īs an added bonus, relocating the park away from the Powder Bowl slope recaptures prime terrain for skiers. It caters to riders with rotating freestyle features, a dedicated snowmaking system, new light towers, and a surface tow lift providing top-notch conditions in the park day and night. Other improvements for this season include a renovated sports shop with a new rental show, outdoor speaker system through the resort village, an outdoor snack/shack at the Lodge, a new coffee shop, and retail location named First Chair Coffee, and LED Slope lighting on Southern Star. When the season kicks off, Beech will also showcase a new village plaza with walkways, multiple fire pits, and landscaping with ice skating being relocated behind the lodge. To take advantage of the added capacity, 10 new SMI fan guns have been added to the snowmaking arsenal. The resort has added 1,000 gallons per minute pump to primary pump house and added 1,250 gallons per minute pump to Lake Sanits to improve snowmaking capability. What’s New This Seasonīeech Mountain has made a number of improvements over the offseason. For this season, Beech Mountain has moved to a digital waiver system along with a digital rental equipment agreement system. Online ticketing has been offered at Beech Mountain for several years, and they are growing the process this season as they are working to become completely paperless.
